Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using FocusNotch ("the Software"), you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.

1. The free tier

The free tier of FocusNotch is yours to use for personal or commercial purposes at no cost. You may install it on as many of your own Macs as you like. You may not redistribute the binary, decompile it, or strip out the Pro license check.

2. Pro license

FocusNotch Pro is a one-time $19.99 USD purchase that unlocks integrations (Calendar push, Reminders sync, voice "Plan my day," and future integrations).

Scope: One Pro license covers up to 3 Macs that you personally own and use.
Lifetime updates: All future v1.x updates are included. A v2.0 (if there is one) may require an upgrade fee.
License keys are non-transferable. Do not share, resell, or publish your key. We reserve the right to revoke leaked keys.
30-day refund, no questions. Email support@focusnotch.app within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund and deactivate the key.

3. As-is, no warranty

The Software is provided "AS IS," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. There is no guarantee FocusNotch will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with future versions of macOS or any third-party app it integrates with (Apple Music, Spotify, Reminders, Calendar, etc.).

4. Your data is your responsibility

You are responsible for backing up your own data. Everything lives at ~/Library/Application Support/FocusNotch/data.json — copy it somewhere safe if it matters to you. Settings → Export produces CSV and JSON dumps on demand. We do not have a copy of your data and cannot restore it for you.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will the authors be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability — direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or otherwise — arising from, out of, or in connection with the Software or its use. Our total cumulative liability to you, for any cause, is limited to the amount you paid for FocusNotch in the trailing twelve months (i.e., up to $19.99 USD for Pro users; $0 for free users).

6. Third-party services

FocusNotch integrates with Apple Music, Spotify, Apple Reminders, Apple Calendar, Siri, and (for Pro license verification) Lemon Squeezy. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability or behavior.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced in-app and via the email address you used at Pro checkout, with at least 14 days' notice before they take effect.
