No. FocusNotch needs the hardware notch, which means M1 or newer MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models. If your Mac doesn't have a notch, the app has nothing to live in.
Yes. The free tier is a complete time tracker — timer, todos, music controls, all three themes, Focus Buddy, Pomodoro, manual session editing, stats. Pro is a one-time $19.99 unlock that adds Calendar push, Reminders two-way sync, and Siri "Plan my day." If you never need integrations, you never need to pay.
We're indie. The Apple Developer Program is $99/year, which we'd rather not bake into the price. The .dmg works fine — first-time launch just needs right-click → Open instead of double-click, which is a one-step Gatekeeper bypass macOS has supported for years. Notarized builds are on the roadmap.
Local-first. Your timers, todos, and sessions live in a file on your disk. FocusNotch makes network calls only when you (1) activate a Pro license, or (2) sync to Calendar or Reminders — and only if you've enabled those. No telemetry, no analytics, no tracking.
Anything you push from FocusNotch lands in your Apple Calendar first. Apple Calendar then syncs it to Google natively — FocusNotch never talks to Google's servers. Same goes for the other direction.
One Pro purchase activates on up to three of your own Macs — a laptop, a desktop, a backup. Deactivate from one Mac to add a fourth. Lifetime v1.x updates included.
